Setup Guide

How to configure MikroTik with Telexico Connect.

Complete this setup once. Your Telexico Connect portal URL is available in your dashboard under Dashboard → Sites → Your Site → Portal URL.

Access MikroTik WinBox or WebFig

Connect to your MikroTik router via WinBox (Windows app) or WebFig (browser at the router IP). Admin credentials required.

Navigate to IP → Hotspot

In WinBox: IP → Hotspot → Setup. In WebFig: IP → Hotspot. Run the HotSpot setup wizard if you haven't already.

Create or configure Hotspot server

Select the interface for guest WiFi (typically a bridge or specific interface). Complete the HotSpot setup wizard.

Configure login page redirect

Under Hotspot → Server Profiles → [your profile] → Login, set the login page to redirect to your Telexico Connect URL.

Login URL (in Hotspot Server Profile):
https://www.telexicoconnect.com/portal/[your-site-slug]

Add walled garden entries

Under Hotspot → Walled Garden, add entries for telexicoconnect.com and formspree.io to allow the portal to load pre-auth.

Set up RADIUS or local auth

Telexico Connect handles authentication. Configure MikroTik to accept the token returned by Telexico after the guest submits the form.

Test the configuration

Connect a device to the guest SSID. You should be redirected to your Telexico Connect portal to complete the form and connect.

Your Telexico Connect Portal URL

Find this in your Telexico Connect dashboard: Sites → [Your Site] → Portal Configuration → External Portal URL. This is the URL you paste into the MikroTik external portal field.

FAQ

MikroTik + Telexico Connect questions

Does this work with RouterOS 7?+
Yes. RouterOS 7.x HotSpot configuration is supported. Ensure you're running a current firmware version.
Is MikroTik harder to configure than other access points?+
MikroTik configuration is more technical than consumer-oriented systems like Omada. If you need assistance, Telexico Communications can configure MikroTik deployments.
Can I use MikroTik as the router with other APs?+
Yes. MikroTik can act as the router/controller while other access points (UniFi, EAP) handle the wireless. Configure the HotSpot on the MikroTik and the APs on the same VLAN.
