What UniFi (Ubiquiti) models are supported?

Ubiquiti access points supporting external captive portal redirect are compatible with Telexico Connect. This includes:

Setup Guide

How to configure UniFi (Ubiquiti) with Telexico Connect.

Complete this setup once. Your Telexico Connect portal URL is available in your dashboard under Dashboard → Sites → Your Site → Portal URL.

Log into UniFi Network Application

Access your UniFi Network Application through your UDM, Cloud Key or self-hosted instance. Navigate to the main dashboard.

Create or select your guest network

Go to WiFi and select your guest SSID, or create a new one. Guest networks should be isolated from your private network using a separate VLAN.

Enable Guest Hotspot or Hotspot Portal

Under your SSID settings, navigate to Advanced → Guest Policy. Enable the Hotspot Portal option.

Select External Portal

Under Portal settings, choose External Portal Server. This tells UniFi to redirect guests to your specified URL instead of the built-in splash page.

Enter your Telexico Connect URL

Paste your Telexico Connect external portal URL into the External Portal Server field. Format: https://www.telexicoconnect.com/portal/[your-slug]

Configure pre-authorisation access

Under Walled Garden, add telexicoconnect.com and formspree.io to allow the portal to load before WiFi is granted.

Set post-authorisation redirect

Optionally set where guests are redirected after connecting — your venue website, menu or booking page.

Save and test

Save settings. Connect a test device to the guest WiFi. You should be redirected to your Telexico Connect branded portal immediately.

Your Telexico Connect Portal URL

Find this in your Telexico Connect dashboard: Sites → [Your Site] → Portal Configuration → External Portal URL. This is the URL you paste into the UniFi (Ubiquiti) external portal field.

FAQ

UniFi (Ubiquiti) + Telexico Connect questions

Does Telexico Connect work with UniFi Cloud?+
Yes. Telexico Connect works with UniFi Network Application whether self-hosted (CloudKey, UDM) or via UI.com cloud management. The external portal URL configuration is identical.
Does it work with the old UAP-AC models?+
Yes. Any UniFi AP supporting guest portal redirect is compatible, including the older UAP-AC-Pro, UAP-AC-LR and UAP-AC-M series.
Do I need a Dream Machine?+
No. Any UniFi setup that includes the Network Application (CloudKey Gen 2, UDM, UDM-Pro or self-hosted) supports external portal configuration.
What VLAN should I use for the guest network?+
We recommend a dedicated guest VLAN (e.g. VLAN 20) that is isolated from your main network. Telexico Communications can advise on network design if needed.
