Telexico Connect™ — Guest WiFi
Privacy Notice
You connected to free guest WiFi at a venue powered by Telexico Connect. This page explains — honestly and in plain English — what details we collect, exactly what they're used for, and the control you keep over them.
Telexico Communications Ltd · Company No. 15348464 · 64 Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton WV3 0TT · Last updated July 2026
Who's who
In shortThe venue you visited is in charge of your data. We're the technology that handles it carefully on their behalf.
The venue where you connected (the café, restaurant, garage, centre or club named on the WiFi page) is the data controller — your details are collected for them, to welcome you back. Telexico Communications Ltd operates the Telexico Connect platform and acts as the data processor, storing and handling your details securely on the venue's behalf under UK GDPR.
What we collect
In shortOnly what you type in, plus the basics your device shares to make WiFi work.
- Details you enter: your name, mobile number, email address, and — where the venue's page asks — your date of birth, your town, the reason for your visit, or (at vehicle service venues) your registration number.
- Connection details: your device's network identifier (MAC address), the venue and access point you connected through, and the date and time of each visit.
- Vehicle details (garage venues only): when you enter a registration, publicly available vehicle information (make, colour, MOT and tax status) is retrieved from the DVLA to display back to you.
We do not monitor, log or inspect the websites you visit or the content of your internet use while connected.
What it's used for — and only for
In shortConnecting you to WiFi, and — only if you agreed — occasional messages from that venue. Nothing else.
- Getting you online — your details create your guest WiFi access and let you reconnect more easily next time.
- Messages from the venue you visited — offers, event invitations and birthday treats by SMS and/or email, only where you gave consent on the WiFi page. Marketing is optional and is never a condition of using the WiFi where consent boxes are shown.
- Understanding visits — the venue can see anonymous-style patterns (busy times, returning guests, areas visitors come from) to run their business better.
Your details are never sold. They are not shared with other venues, advertisers or data brokers. They are used by the venue you actually visited, through our platform, and by no one else.
Who we share it with
In shortOnly the services needed to deliver the messages and run the platform — under contract, never for their own use.
To operate the service we use a small number of suppliers acting under our instructions: UK-based hosting for the platform and database, SMS delivery providers to send messages the venue asks us to send, and — at vehicle service venues — the DVLA's public Vehicle Enquiry Service to look up the details you request. Each processes data only to deliver the service, never for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
In shortWhile the venue uses the service to stay in touch with its guests — and gone when it's no longer needed or you ask.
Your details are retained while the venue maintains its guest list through our platform. If a venue leaves the service, its guest data is deleted or returned to that venue as controller. You can request erasure at any time (below), which is honoured regardless.
Your rights & your control
In shortUnsubscribe instantly, or ask us what we hold and have it corrected or deleted — free, any time.
- Stop the messages: reply STOP to any SMS, or use the unsubscribe link in any email — it takes effect immediately.
- Access, correction, erasure: you can ask what details are held about you, have them corrected, or have them deleted entirely.
- Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting your WiFi access.
To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@telexico.com or write to Telexico Communications Ltd, 64 Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton WV3 0TT. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security & where your data lives
In shortHeld in the UK, encrypted in transit, access-controlled.
The platform and its database are hosted in the United Kingdom. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to authorised operation of the service, and venues can only ever see their own guests — never another venue's.
